We publish our prices, which in this category is unusual enough to need explaining. Most household-AI and smart-home integration work is quoted privately, which is convenient for the vendor and unhelpful for everyone trying to work out whether to have the conversation at all.
So, plainly.
The monthly service
| Service | Price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Personal | $149/month | One household and its Personal Chief. |
| Business | $299/month | One business and its separate Business Chief. |
| Personal + Business | $399/month | One household and one business, each with its own Chief. |
| Additional business | $199/month | Another separate Business Chief and workspace. |
| Additional household | $99/month | Another household and its separate Personal Chief. |
There is no annual commitment and no cancellation fee.
One thing worth noting about how that price is set: it reflects what we continue to manage, not how complicated the installation was. A difficult install is a one-time problem and we quote it as one. Charging a household more every month for the rest of the relationship because their wiring was awkward in week one would be indefensible.
Why business costs more than personal
Not because it is a bigger company and can pay more. Because it is genuinely more service: role-based access across staff, business books and workflows, standing instructions, and a support obligation that assumes something breaking is a commercial problem rather than an inconvenience.
The combined tier is $399 rather than $448 for the same reason it exists at all — it is one managed relationship, even though it is deliberately two Chiefs with separate memories, permissions, accounts, and workspaces. Household and company context do not blend. That separation is the product, not a limitation of it.
The second line: AI capacity
The monthly price covers the managed service — the appliance and its software, monitoring, updates, encrypted backups, support, and our ongoing care of your household or company. It does not cover the AI capacity your Chief consumes when it listens, reasons, researches, and speaks.
You choose how that is supplied, and you can change your mind later:
- Bring your own OpenAI account. You subscribe with OpenAI directly and pay them. We bill you nothing for it, and you see exactly what it costs.
- Let us supply it. We provide the capacity, measure what your Chief actually uses, and put it on your monthly invoice at our cost plus thirty percent. One vendor, one bill.
Either way, some capacity is always metered — voice is the main one — and that is billed at our cost plus thirty percent. There is no minimum and no bundled allowance you have to grow into. A quiet month costs little. A month where your Chief is talking, researching, and working through documents costs more.
Usage is billed one month behind, on the same invoice, shown as its own line. Your first invoice is the service fee alone; usage appears from the second onward. You can watch it accrue in your portal while the month is still running.
Why not just bundle it? Because bundling AI capacity means one of two things: a generous allowance most customers never use and all of them pay for, or a tight one that turns into an argument the first time someone has a busy month. Metering at cost plus thirty is less tidy on a pricing page and fairer on an invoice.
The part we cannot publish
White Glove setup and equipment are quoted individually, after we understand the household or business. That quote reflects equipment, rooms or locations, integrations, data migration, mounting, network work, and customisation — and a four-room apartment and a twelve-room house with a detached office are not the same job.
What we can commit to is the sequence: you see and accept the complete setup, equipment, and recurring total before onboarding begins. No work starts against an estimate.
How to think about the number
The honest comparison is not against a smart speaker, which is a different product at a different price for a different job. It is against the hours. If a Chief closes six to twenty open household loops a month — the quotes never chased, the warranty never claimed, the appointment never moved — the arithmetic tends to answer itself, and if it does not, we would rather you worked that out before signing than after.
The full breakdown, including the AI capacity options in detail, is on the pricing page. If you would like to test the thing before discussing money, Alfred is available without a signup, and a private consultation costs nothing.
