This equipment is only for customers who choose the in-home or in-office option. Personal, Business, and combined service can instead be fully hosted by us with no PrivateChief equipment and a fixed $299 onboarding fee. For an on-premises installation, you purchase the hardware directly—the manufacturer warranty is yours—and we prepare, install, and support it. The Brain — one per home

A small, private server that runs your household intelligence. It lives out of sight and connects to your router.

Optional troubleshooting insurance. The server's video output is DisplayPort — not HDMI — so this specific cable is what lets any TV act as its screen. In the rare case we ever need to look at the server together on a support call, you'll be glad it's in the drawer. Most homes never use it.

Bridges for your existing devices

Your Chief controls the home through a private Home Assistant instance that runs on the hub above, which is how it reaches thousands of devices across Matter, Zigbee, Z-Wave, Thread and Wi-Fi — including Control4 and Lutron systems. You never administer it; it simply sits underneath.

Some brands you already own (Lutron, Nest, and the like) still need a small bridge or hub of their own. Because every home is different, we identify exactly what you need during your pre-installation survey — no guesswork, and never more than necessary.
