PrivateChief vs. Alexa+

Where does a managed Chief earn its place?

Alexa+ already handles useful household tasks at a much lower service price. PrivateChief is for households that also want an individually configured system and an ongoing engineering relationship. The right choice depends on how much work you want the service to take on.

Start with the fit.

Consider Alexa+

Consider Alexa+ when you want conversational help and compatible home control in the Alexa ecosystem, especially if you already have Prime and suitable devices. Try the tasks that matter to your family first.

Alexa+ can use shared documents and household preferences, help coordinate calendars, and provide personalized reminders. Those are meaningful household-assistant capabilities, and they overlap with some reasons people consider a Chief. [2]

Consider PrivateChief

Consider PrivateChief when you want a household system configured around your records, permissions and recurring work, with engineers responsible for its ongoing care.

A useful starting point is the Household Office: keeping documents and administrative work in order. The Chief prepares, organizes and explains; licensed professional advice and hands-on care remain with people.

The complete cost

How much does Alexa+ cost in the US?

Alexa+

Included with Prime

Prime members receive full Alexa+ access at no additional charge. Without Prime, the standalone subscription is $19.99 per month. A free, usage-limited text-chat option is available through Alexa.com and the Alexa app. [1]

PrivateChief Personal

$149 / month

The household service fee. Fully hosted service requires no equipment and has a fixed $299 onboarding fee. An in-home installation adds local household capabilities, with equipment and White Glove setup quoted separately.

AI capacity is separate: bring your own OpenAI account for reasoning or use capacity we supply at cost plus 30%. Metered voice is billed at cost plus 30% either way. No annual commitment or cancellation fee.

See the complete pricing

Prime itself is a paid membership. Devices, purchases and other subscriptions may add costs. Alexa+ remains the lower-priced service; PrivateChief’s higher fee needs to be justified by the setup, household work and ongoing care you actually want.

Before you choose.

Why pay for PrivateChief if Alexa+ is included with Prime?

Pay only if the managed household setup and ongoing care solve a need that remains after trying Alexa+. A consultation should establish that fit with concrete tasks, permissions and a complete quote.

Does Alexa+ remember things about a household?

Yes. Amazon describes using preferences, shared documents and calendar information to personalize assistance. PrivateChief’s distinction is the household system and service relationship, not exclusive access to memory.

Will PrivateChief control every device I use with Alexa?

No blanket compatibility promise is made. Bring the device list to the consultation. We check supported integrations and explain any gaps before you commit.
