PrivateChief Today and the Morning Briefing: Your Whole Day on One Screen

2:23 · Narrated walkthrough of the real app · Watch on YouTube

Today is the PrivateChief screen that brings your calendar, tasks, follow-ups, decisions and your Chief's background work into one private plan, built from the records you already have. Full briefing opens the Morning Briefing, which can also be emailed to you each morning. The household in this walkthrough, the Ashfords, is invented for the demonstration.

Today

What Today does

  • Shows today's calendar, your tasks, follow-ups, decisions waiting for you and the work your Chief has in progress, on one private screen.
  • Reuses your existing calendar, to-do, project and follow-up records, so there is nothing extra to maintain.
  • Lets you mark a task done or hand it to your Chief, and keeps finished tasks under Recently Completed.
  • Switches between Today, This Week across your connected calendars, and Waiting, which gathers everything that depends on someone else.
  • Adds anything to your plan through a conversation with your Chief.
  • Opens the Morning Briefing: the weather, your day, your to-do list, projects, follow-ups, books, workout, language review, support requests and the news briefs you follow, each under the name of the screen where you deal with it.
  • Can email the briefing to you every morning at the time you choose.

What the narrator says

0:00Your whole day on one screen

A day is spread across a calendar, a to-do list, a dozen promises and whatever your Chief is working on. Today puts all of it on one private screen.

0:12Laura's Wednesday

This is Laura Ashford's Wednesday, from a family invented for this demonstration. It reuses the records she already has, so there is nothing to keep in sync. Her afternoon starts with Ella's orthodontist.

0:28Tasks: Done, or hand it to your Chief

Her tasks come from the household to-do list. Each one has a Done button, and a second button that hands the job to Savannah, the family's Chief. Finished tasks stay on record under Recently Completed.

0:43Needs your attention, and work in progress

Needs Your Attention is where decisions wait. The plumber's quote for the upstairs bathroom needs a yes or a no. And Savannah has noticed that Grandma Ruth's birthday is on Saturday. Working On It shows what Savannah is doing in the background, like comparing three refinance quotes, and what happens next.

1:08This Week, and adding to the plan by voice

This Week looks seven days ahead across your connected calendars. And the Tell Savannah button adds anything to the plan just by saying it.

1:19Waiting on someone else

Waiting gathers everything that depends on someone else. The school has not answered about Sam's bus stop. And Savannah has emailed the town about leaf pickup, and will report back.

1:33The Morning Briefing

Full briefing opens the Morning Briefing. The date, the weather, and the day ahead, which can also arrive by email every morning at the time you choose. Every heading is named after the screen where you deal with it. The to-do list. Projects. Follow-ups.

1:54Books, fitness, language and support report in

The rest of the household reports in too. The September books are waiting on two answers. Today's workout. The Spanish words due for review. And any open support requests. The news briefs you follow arrive here as well.
