PrivateChief Announcements: Speak to Any Room in the House, and Hear the Reply
Announcements is the PrivateChief tool for saying something to the whole house, or just the rooms that need to hear it. Type the message, choose rooms or zones, and the household's devices speak it, with a few seconds for someone to answer back. The household in this walkthrough, the Ashfords, is invented for the demonstration.

What Announcements does
- Speaks a typed message everywhere, in a zone such as upstairs, or in chosen rooms, with rooms you can leave out.
- Lists only rooms with a device that can verifiably speak announcements, and shows rooms that are offline.
- Listens for a short natural reply in each room and plays it back to whoever sent the announcement.
- Gives every room its own rule: normal, quiet (spoken softly), or baby room (held unless urgent); each room's quiet hours also soften delivery.
- Keeps a history of what was said, who said it, what happened in each room, and any replies.

Calling up the stairs only works if someone is listening. Announcements speaks your message in the rooms you choose, and lets people answer back.

Laura Ashford, from a family invented for this demonstration, types the message. Dinner is ready. She can send it everywhere, and leave out any room she wants to keep quiet.

Or pick a zone, like upstairs, or single rooms. Only rooms with a device that can verifiably speak announcements are listed, and a room that is offline says so.
0:38Replies, and urgent messages
With Allow replies on, each room listens for a few seconds afterwards, so someone can simply answer. Urgent is for the rare message that must get through everywhere.

Every room has its own rule. Normal. Quiet, where announcements are spoken softly, as they are in every room during its quiet hours. Or baby room, where they are held back unless marked urgent.

Recent delivery shows what happened in each room. Spoken in the family room, softly in Ella's room, held in the nursery. And Sam answered from his room: coming in two minutes. His reply is played back to whoever sent the announcement.
