PrivateChief Business Morning Briefing: Your Books, Today's Calendar and Who Is Waiting

1:42 · Narrated walkthrough of the real app · Watch on YouTube

The Business Morning Briefing is one daily snapshot of the business from your PrivateChief Business Chief: where the money stood at the last close, what is on today, and who is waiting on you. The design studio in this walkthrough, Westbrook Interiors, is invented for the demonstration.

Business Morning Briefing

What the Business Morning Briefing covers

  • One Business-only snapshot each day, in the app and, if you choose, by email at the time you set.
  • Your Briefs news topics at the top.
  • The last closed month in Books: combined statement ending balance, accounts reconciled and open exceptions, clearly marked as the last monthly close, not today's bank balance.
  • Today's business calendar and the tasks due today or overdue.
  • Waiting on us: customers waiting for a reply, overdue invoices and quotes that have gone quiet. Drafted payment reminders wait for your approval in Customers.
  • Notes from your Chief, which you mark resolved when they are done.

What the narrator says

0:00Three things before the day starts

Before the day starts, an owner wants to know three things: where the money stands, what is on today, and who is waiting. The Business Morning Briefing answers all three.

0:13One snapshot a day, by email if you like

This is Westbrook Interiors, Laura Ashford's design studio, invented for this demonstration. Each day, Poppy, the studio's Chief, prepares one snapshot of the business. The news topics Laura follows in Briefs sit at the top. She reads the briefing here and, if she likes, has it emailed to her each morning at the time she sets.

0:36Last closed Books and today's calendar

It starts with the last closed month in Books: the combined statement ending balance, the accounts reconciled, and any open exceptions. It says plainly that this is the last monthly close, not today's bank balance. Then comes today's business calendar.

0:55Tasks due and who is waiting on us

Tasks due today or overdue come from Projects. Waiting on us names everyone waiting on the studio: an overdue invoice, a quote that has gone quiet, a customer waiting for a reply. A payment reminder that is already drafted waits for Laura's approval in Customers.

1:16Notes from your Chief

Last come the notes Poppy has left for Laura. She marks each one resolved when it is done, and can look back over resolved notes whenever she needs to.
