PrivateChief Personal: Your First 90 Days in a New House, Handled
The jobs that land on a family in its first three months in a new house, and how a PrivateChief Chief carries them: the town's trash rules, the house's new calendar, the first month's paperwork, the accounts moving into the family's name, the appliances and the winter preparation. The Ashford family, their Chief and the town of Westbrook are invented for this demonstration.

What New house covers
- Finds out how things work in the new town and puts them on the family calendar, with the right person reminded.
- Puts the house's dates on the calendar: winter preparation, quotes due back, the first bills and renewals.
- Turns the first month's paperwork into a shared to-do list, each task with the person doing it and its due date.
- Keeps everything that is waiting on someone else in Follow-ups, such as the bank and the utilities.
- Keeps the house's memory in Home & Family: each appliance's make, model, serial number, documents and service contact, added from a photo of its rating plate.
- Brings regular maintenance back to the to-do list on its own schedule.
What the narrator says
0:00A long list of small jobs
Moving into a new house brings a long list of small jobs, in roughly the same order for everyone. None of them is hard. Together they take a surprising amount of time, and they usually fall to one person.
0:15Asking how trash works in the new town
The Ashfords, a family invented for this demonstration, moved in two weeks ago. Laura asks Savannah, their Chief, how trash works in the new town. Savannah looks it up, puts the transfer-station hours on the household calendar for Michael, and adds the resident sticker to his to-do list.
0:34The new house's rhythm on the calendar
The calendar takes on the new house's rhythm. The transfer station repeats every Wednesday and Saturday, and Michael, as the participant, gets the reminder.
0:47Before the first snow
The jobs that must happen before the first snow go on it too: the irrigation blow-out, the furnace service, and the day the snow removal quotes are due back.
0:59The first bills and renewals
So do the house's first bills and renewals, the car excise bill and the home insurance, each on the day it falls due.
1:09The first month's paperwork
The first month's paperwork becomes a shared to-do list: each driver's change of address, voter registration, the town census and the dog license, each with the person doing it and the day it is due.
1:25Waiting on the bank and the utilities
Follow-ups carries everything waiting on someone else: the bank confirming the new address, and the electric and water accounts moving into the family's name, each with a day to check back.
1:39What the house needs next
Home and Family shows what the house needs next, the irrigation blow-out, the furnace service and the gutters, and who is doing each one.
1:50The house's memory
It also becomes the house's memory: each appliance with its make, model, serial number, documents and who services it. Laura can add one just by sending Savannah a photo of its rating plate.
2:05Routines that run on their own
Then the routines settle in. The filters, the gutters and the generator test come back on the to-do list on their own, so the house runs the same way whether or not anyone remembers.
